Our generation and the ones after us are fortunate to live life without the peace threatening events of war. To us, The World War 2 is pieces of memories in the form of facts of history being told to us through texts, historians, pictorials and artifacts, that we naively glue them together in our minds, to form an impression of a huge part of Singapore's history. Our thoughts and opinions of war are constantly reshaped with every different perspective that is exposed to us, with every new readings and new insights. The journey of the search to find the meaning of sacrifice and honour in war is never ending.
This exhibition showcases the exploration journey of 6 post war generation individuals, in the search of the meaning of sacrifice and honour to this new generation, that is so distant from the real events that had occurred. Through the architecture medium, we, a collative group of multi-racial and multi-national students, hope to depict our progressive thoughts and reflection about the honour and selflessness of those, who gave up their lives fighting for the peace we take for granted today.
